Billy closed his eyes in thought. "I'd have to tell the other Rangers. They'll understand and want to help us. As far as the public...they don't know who we are, and half of them think we're Martians anyway. We'll simply announce to the press that our Pink Ranger has some upgrades...and you can stay with any of us, and choose any name you like"
He sighed. "And as far as Mr. and Mrs. Hart...we'll simply tell them that Kimberly went on a girls' retreat with Trini. They won't like it, but we've pulled it off before. Does that work, or should I try something else?"
"Hey, that's what Apex thinks we are too." In spite of the situation, she could find a little humor in that at least. At least one kind of similarity between two realities. Although, she supposed the general public thought the same, they didn't have much reason to think otherwise. And they weren't going to try changing their minds, fewer eyes on the teens of Angel Grove then.
"That should work. You know her parents here better than I do, after all. Mine are probably going to be an issue for your Kim though. They're already on me for punching Ty's tooth out, they'll never let me just bail for a few days or something."
They could always just let her parents think she ran away or something. It wasn't a great option but it was an option.
"I like it. I can remember that---and I"m not worried. Kimberly is clever, she'll find a way until we find her."
Billy took note, and Zordon and Alpha murmured their agreements. The Blue Ranger continued to watch the viewing globe warily, though---and naturally, it buzzed.
"Trouble in the financial district," Billy reported with a grim face. "Shall we morph and move out?"
"Glad to hear it. Jason will look after her, he does that. And if she doesn't crash with Trini or someone, I'm sure Zordon's ship has to have a living area or something." Nobody on her team would leave someone hanging. And she believed them that their Kim was clever. Maybe it was ego.
Kim turned her eyes towards the viewing globe then, kind of wishing they had something like that to prepare them before they headed out for a fight. The ship seemed so advanced, it was stupid not to, really.
"Can't leave Angel Grove hangin' right?" Kim held up her coin with a grin, letting her armor form around her and then retracts the front of her helmet.
Billy blinked. Now that...that was different. He could see echoes of his Kimberly's uniform, but she had a serious shell. She looked every bit the part of a powerful warrior.
"Wow, that's...wow. The Grid must really prepare you for battle...ours, comparatively, are not quite as sturdy. Promise not to laugh at me?" Billy joked, opening the morpher. "Triceratops!"
His was a simple flash of light and a simple blue and white suit. Spandex? Sure looked like it. He popped off his helmet with a small laugh. "We might make an odd pair, but I think we'll be all right."
She immediately mimed zipping her lips in reply. No laughter from her but she couldn't help but stare a little at his morph and his... uniform? Armor? Either way, it seemed to have worked for him and his team, presumably.
"It might be because of how we morph. We just kind of connect to it." So maybe it was stronger, maybe his would be different if he did too? Not that she would suggest, more because if this way worked for them, there had to be a reason.
"Definitely gonna stand out but I'm ready if you are." With a grin, the front of her helmet slipped back into place.
Billy clasped his helmet over his head with a grateful smile. "All right. Back to action!" he shouted, activating the teleport back out to the field. Sorry, Kim---you'll have to get used to the cheese in this universe.
"All right, clay-brains, who's up first?" He struck a deliberate pose before charging in, rolling and dodging between timed hits. He needed to land more hits than Kim would, but he did it well.
Cheese, she can handle. It might be met with smirks and veiled laughter at times but never meant rudely. It would just be a little... weird, to her. It would probably take her some time to get used to how things work here.
Behind her helmet, she blinked curiously at the 'clay' part of the insult but it clicked quickly enough. These were their putties. Training against these would have been so much easier but it also wouldn't have prepared her team too well. Caught in her thoughts, a putty almost snuck up on her but she turned to backhand it quick enough, throwing it back a few feet. Now she was irritated and her body almost went to auto-pilot, everything Trini and Jason had showed the team coming to the front of her mind.
Billy grinned at her behind the helmet. "Great work! But---ah!"
They were bettering their tactics. He flew across the sand and skidded into the dirt, groaning and gritting his teeth. He reached for his belt and unfolded the Blade Blaster with a quick smack, firing enough shots to give himself space to stand.
Ganging up, she could handle, they'd had a small army thrown at them for training while Alpha just cheered them on. And reminded them that they were probably going to die. What really struck her was that he was armed and nobody on her own team but Jason seemed to have a weapon.
Their armor may have been different but at least they had an advantage there. Unfortunately, the financial district didn't offer much in the way of makeshift weapons and she wasn't willing to tear a stop sign or something out of the ground. So fists it was.
At least she was good at that! And decent at ducking under swings, grabbing putties around the waist and slamming them into the ground, getting up with flourish when knocked down, or just kicking them in the head.
"Do batons count?" It was probably the closest thing she'd handled to a bo-staff. And it meant that maybe cheerleading would have given her some useful skills.
This was probably something to remember for her and her team to practice on once she gets back to her own Angel Grove. For now though, she could try to wing it and, to make it easier on him, she starts weaving through the putties and kicking a few in the chest.
Okay, grumbling about it now was probably not the best idea but it was hard not to let some of the frustration out as she caught the staff, swinging it in an arc at a couple putties.
She could get used to using something like this though. Having some extra range was good, especially when you were still getting your feet wet with how things worked here.
Billy laughed his approval as he worked his way through. It was difficult, and he'd need to visit the medical bay, but they were doing fine. The putties would have to wait and get them another day.
Finally, he heard a strike, and the last one fall.
She glanced around, checking for any more of them or if they'd get back up, expecting some to be revived like the ones back in her Angel Grove. Luckily not.
"I'm good, tougher than I look. What about you?" She'd ended up a good deal more durable since she found her coin but there were differences they'd already discovered.
Billy's relief was obvious. He ran through his mental checks, and they largely came up satisfactory...but there was one issue. His shoulder twinged a little.
"Minor strain, but that can be fixed easily enough. We have a medical bay---you did, right?"
"Uh..." They hadn't needed any kind of real medical attention since finding the coins, and they hadn't done any exploration of the ship beyond the zords, the command room, and the pit.
"Maybe? I mean, it's a big ship. There must be one somewhere, right?"

"Hey, have you ever used a bo staff? Or anything pole-like?"
He flipped the blaster to sword mode and started thwacking his way through.

"Here! Since your Zordon didn't see fit to give you a weapon."
He twisted to stop a putty on the way down, bouncing off of it to kick another. They'd be through this soon.
