It seemed normal to Kim. Or, at least as normal as having an alien coin and access to super strength and armor could be. This was a new normal, she was getting used to it. That was probably the better explanation. Not normal but she'd adjusted.
"Just up this way." She started to lead the way, not sure if she had the ability to climb the way Kim's team seems to be able to do, so she took her along the path through the mine to the chasm. Then came to a stop.
"Down here. Don't sweat it, there's water at the bottom, nothing is sticking out. Just a swim and we can walk through the cavern to the ship." She'd try to warn about the weirdness that was the cave being under the water but that was better seen than anything else.
She took a breath and went with her. She didn't let go of the other Ranger's hand unless she was asked to, as she went with her. She really wished Billy was there. But she'd do her best.
She looked down over the edge, and her hand tightened for just a moment as she swallowed hard, pale under her helmet. Didn't matter that was water down below. Water from enough of a height as as hard as concrete, and she wasn't sure how much her armor would protect her.
She almost, almost said 'dead serious but caught herself quickly enough. That would probably have made matters so much worse. Instead, the visor of her helmet retracts, showing her face and a faint smile.
"Sorry to say, I am. I'll go first and yell up to you. I can even unmorph, if it will make you feel better. This is how we always got back and forth, and we did it unmorphed at first, until we learned how to access the Morphin Grid." And even then, they tried not to morph before coming up here. None of them wanted the ship found. Sure, Alpha could probably fend off Angel Grove police but they'd probably call in the army or something.
Okay, the helmet missing a peice was just odd. She made herself let go of the other girl's hand. "No, you don't have to..." she said weakly.
If they were from other universes, were the rules different? Would what was fine for them kill her? Or was it the place that decided the change in physics. Billy would either know... or spend the next ten hours trying to figure it out...
The rules could be different. Their armor was different, and their Zordon's and Alpha's. The thought did cross Kim's mind, so she nodded and let her hand be released.
"I've got an idea then. Hold onto me. I'll break our landing in the water. My armor is tough, and so am I. We trained against putties without armor when we started." Her visor flicks back down, a faint grin visible before her face is covered again, and she holds her arms out.
"We sometimes fight them without armor too," she said, but... she appreciated and understood the gesture. She walked over and put her arms around the other Ranger, letting her pick her up if that was her plan, hugging her awkwardly if it wasn't.
Awkward or not, Kim wrapped one arm around her, making sure she was ready and then threw herself, and Trini, backwards into the chasm and down into the water, the pink ranger making sure she was the one that hit, and then letting the other go.
She clung, eyes wide under her helmet, as she tried very hard not to scream. Or pass out. She managed the first. The second was a near thing. She gasped when she was left to tread water on her own. Not trusting her voice she nodded. It was shaky, but it was a nod.
"Alright, now we go down. There's a spot if you just go straight down, where you'll come out of the water. Brace yourself, gravity is weird there. We're gonna fall out of the water into a cave. Not a big fall, like skipping a couple steps."
That was a bit of an understatement. It was more than that but better than jumping down here had been. Kim gave her a moment and then dove under water and swam down to the cave. Hopefully the other Zordon had already given hers and Alpha a heads up they were coming. She didn't want to see the other girl get thrown around by a little robot after jumping into a chasm with her.
Going to fall... out of the bottom of the water.... Great.
She took a breath, more to steady herself than from concern that she'd drown, then she dived under as well, following the other Ranger, wishing she could be doing this in her Zord.....
She made sure the other was following her through the water and then pushed herself out into the cave, being used to the fall after so many times that she manages to catch herself and move for Trini.
And then motioned for her to follow, the front of her helmet retracting as she took her to the ship.
"Zordon, Alpha?"
From further in the ship, in the command room, a couple voices can be heard.
"Master Kimberly, we received a communication-"
The command room was large, probably about the size of the command center, and Trini would get to see a robot with a small familiarity to her Alpha puttering away in there, while a face could be seen on the wall like an old pin-board toy.
Trini followed, still not as comfortable as she could be, but so long as there were no more drops, she was confidant that she could handle anything.
And she stayed confidant... until she saw.... ALPHA? ZORDON? She was so glad she was wearing the helmet, because she tried very hard to always be polite, but... They were not at all what she expected. She kept just behind the other Ranger, waiting to be addressed while she bit back every remark she knew better than to make, wishing Kim... her Kim... was there. Or Zack. Somehow, she had a feeling Zack would handle this the best of all of them.
omg me and my friend spent an hours after the movie giggling about it
At least now she could see why Kim had reacted as she did to Trini's Alpha and Zordon, this was what she'd gotten accustomed to.
"Yeah, I know. Been there, done that. Zordon, Alpha, this is Trini."
The face in the wall moved to the side of the room they were on, getting a better look at Trini, even if she remained morphed. For a moment, he might have seemed critical.
"Welcome, Trini. Your realities, Zordon contacted us. Alpha has already begun searching for what might have cause this merge in realities."
My dad and I were grumbling about it for hours after, lol
She nodded and took off her helmet, shaking her hair free. "I'm sure both Billys would be happy to help." Two of Billy, that was terrifying and wonderful. What couldn't they build, together?
a part of me loved it because it was so ridiculous XD
"Master Billy was the one to locate the Zeo crystal." Alpha pointed out. He'd spent so much time in the command room studying what information had been left.
Kim watched the three of them quietly, thinking for a moment how Billy had gotten himself into detention, and a small wave of concern washed over her.
"Your Billy doesn't have a tendency to blow things up, does he?" Maybe her Billy didn't, really. An accident or two involving dynamite, and she still wondered by it had been in his lunch box, but that wasn't a lot?
"As in accidentaly in his lab? Rarely. He believes strongly in taking proper safety precautions." She stopped. The question had been asked for a reason. "Your version of Billy blows things up?"
"Only a couple times. That I know of. Three if you count the mine? He blew up his lunchbox and his locker. In school. Both times." As long as they didn't provide him dynamite, they should be fine.
"He really is smart though, he told us he remembers everything so a lot of time won't be wasted with repeat research."
"....... His.... locker? And his lunch box?" She presumed the mine had a reason. Right? It sounded like their Billy needed her Billy's help. Desperately. Their Billy sounded... a bit like her uncle. Uh oh.
"That's good, hopefully they can work well together."
Probably? She hadn't asked and a part of her really didn't want to know. And still doesn't. Some things just didn't need answers even if the curiosity always remained.
"Yeah, I'm sure they could. Billy should be home this time of day, we can give him a call and have him meet us somewhere whenever we're ready."
She nodded. "I can page Billy... our Billy... on the communicator. He'll teleport anywhere we need him to. But maybe they'll want to work in his lab?" Unless Billy would rather not have it blown up....?
"His lab?" Okay, the other Billy had a lab. They could work with that. That would be great, actually.
"Uh, sure. Our Billy just kind of works in his basement it seems so that might be best. My phone gets no signal down here though so I'll give him a call once we get back up to the mine."
She could have Alpha and Zordon pass the message but contacting him with the power coin, who knew who he was around right now.
She turned to the pin wall... so hard to see that is Zordon. "Is there anything we should know before we leave to contact them?" she asked. "I know Billy will be able to contact our Zordon from the lab without a problem if more information needs to be passed to them while they work..."
"It's entirely possible that with the merging of our two realities, the threats we face individually may combine their skills. You will want your team to be more careful than usual." Zordon answered and then was promptly cut off by Alpha, who earned a slightly irritated look.
"Perhaps if your Billy could assist in creating a method of communication that will function down here as well, we can coordinate our efforts more efficiently."
She nodded to Zordon. "If your Rita is anything like ours, you haven't seen the last of her. Of course, I doubt two Ritas could work together for long, but if they're effective enough, they wouldn't have to."
Then Trini looked to Alpha and nodded again. "I'm sure Billy could. He did some amazing things with our communicators. I know he'd be happy to share with other Rangers."
"She'll probably have her coin with her if she comes back. And maybe crashing back onto the planet will kill her again, save us some trouble." Kim commented. "We can just take the coin from her then."
"You should not underestimate her. With the power our Rita possesses, she could pose a terrible threat to you and your reality. She's very capable of working with someone when the situation suits her." Zordon warned, having learned his lesson about every underestimating or doubting Rita.
